About Library

The Bunts Institute for Higher Education Library, established in alignment with the Bombay Bunts Association's educational objectives, serves as a hub of learning and intellectual exploration. Our library is more than a repository of books; it is a dynamic space that nurtures curiosity, fosters research, and promotes a love for knowledge.

Well-furnished spacious Library having sufficient Text Books, Reference Books, Periodicals, Journals & News Papers. The library is automated.

Library is using library software e-granthalya 3.0, which caters all major activities namely Acquisition, Cataloguing, Circulation, and Serial Control with it. The entire library collection is now bar-coded, and students have been issued library cards with barcodes.

Library Services

Home lending

Students may borrow up to two books for one week. The books must be returned by the due date, otherwise, fines will be imposed.

OPAC

The Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) offers convenient access to the library's collection through author, title, and subject searches.

Reference Service

The library helps readers with their inquiries and provides relevant documents in both print and electronic format.

Digital Library

The Digital Library has Computers which can be used to access the E-Resources of the Library.

Question Papers

Past year question papers are available in the library

Library Orientation:

Library orientation and database training is provided for every new batch of students and faculty members. Also it can be done on request.

Internet Facility

The access to internet is provided free of charge to all including students and staff strictly for educational purpose only.

Periodicals/Newspapers

Current periodicals and newspapers can all be accessed within the library.

Book Bank Facility

The College has a Book Bank Scheme for socially disadvantaged and student council members. This program provides a set of textbooks for use during the academic year, which must be returned after the final exams.

Week Days - 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Circulation Counter – 9.30 am to 4.45pm

Rules and Regulations

  • All students, faculty members and staff of the College are eligible for the membership of the library for using its facilities and services offered for the purpose of their academic, research and administrative work.
  • Borrowing of reading materials facility is available to the faculty, students and staff of the College.
  • Always carry Institute ID-Card while using the library and must be produced whenever asked for.
  • No material from the library should be taken out without proper issuing / recording.
  • Maintain atmosphere of dignity, peace and silence in the library.
  • Personal printed materials in the form of books are not allowed to bring inside the library.
  • Keep your personal belongings at the Property Counter /Baggage Counter.
  • Audible use of mobile phones, smoking, food and drinks are not allowed in the library.

Circulation Policy:

  • Books issued should not be brought to the library except for return or renewal.
  • A document issued may be renewed provided there is no pending reservation against it.
  • Borrower should bring the material physically to the library for renewal.
  • No user is eligible to borrow documents from the library on someone else’s behalf.
  • Handle the library material with utmost care.
  • Faculty and staff going on long leave, deputation, study leave, or extraordinary leave will have to return all borrowed materials before leaving the institute.
  • Members are held responsible for all items issued on their name, until they are returned to the library.
  • The Lost / mutilated / spoiled book should be brought to the notice of library staff immediately.
  • If an issued book is lost / mutilated / spoiled, it is to be either replaced with latest edition or compensated by double the original cost at the prevailing exchange rate. Refunding compensation money may not be possible if book lost is found later.
  • The borrowing facility can be restricted or suspended in case of misbehavior or misuse of the library facilities / materials.
